Gohan’s big moment that never came

The Tournament of Power is in its final stages and only the strongest of the universe remain. The warriors we expected great things from fell short of our expectations and sadly, Gohan was one of them. Let’s Break it down

No Transformation

For someone with such incredible power, Gohan failed to do anything spectacular during the Tournament of Power. Near the beginning of the Tournament, Gohan said  “I won’t use my Super Saiyan form, I will use my inner power” but this “inner power” never really showed itself  and sadly, we were left without any exciting growth for Gohan

Missed Opportunity

In DBZ, Gohan missed a great chance to take out Nappa during a team attack. During the Tournament of Power, Gohan pulled back last minute in his attempts to eliminate Toppo so he didn’t damage Android 17 in the process. Although Gohan’s fear was understandable at the start of the series, his caring for Android 17 at this moment was an awful reminder of how compassionate Gohan can be and how that’s not always a good thing when it comes to combat, especially when your universe is on the line.

Gohan’s final moments in the series

As the elected leader of Universe 7, we expected some great things from Gohan. He was trained by one of the best strategists in the Universe and in a tournament with 80 combatants, strategy will be key.  Gohan’s leadership was only apparent during the Frieza vs Dyspo fight where he enacted a great plan to slow down Dyspo and eventually knock him out by sacrificing himself.

This was a great moment for Universe 7, especially Gohan but considering Dragonball Super will be ending at around episode 131 – that was probably Gohan’s final moment in the series and lets be honest, it was mediocre and was surprisingly disappointing for a character of his calibre.
